News for the week of January 19th to the 25th:
Early Monday morning our Patchy Partners sewing group met in the Square to continue work on their crafts. Many hands make for light work! Afterward, the Square was readied for a lively game of Music Bingo! Always fun to sing along to some of our favorite songs from days gone by. After lunch, the Catholics gathered on Willow for Rosary with Loretta. We are so thankful for such a dedicated friend to come and share faith with us. Later in the afternoon, a group of seasoned bakers met on Willow to whip up a batch of zesty lemon crinkle cookies!
Tuesday morning found Al, Toby, Vern and Gus enjoying good company, fresh treats, and of course fierce-but-friendly competition in their weekly game of Cribbage on Sandy Ridge. Meanwhile, residents met in the Square to try their hand at a tie-dye coffee filter craft. They were transformed into beautiful, colorful butterfly decorations in no time! In the afternoon, a sizeable group gathered for Prize Bingo in the Square. All had a great time, and came away with lots of goodies!
Pastor Wik from Bethany Lutheran Church led us in our Wednesday morning church service. We appreciate him taking the time to come and share with us. We enjoyed his inspiring message, and also singing our favorite hymns. Wayne Compeau entertained us in the afternoon. He always draws a crowd as his beautiful voice and talented guitar playing echoes our favorite country western and old-time songs throughout the halls.
Thursday morning found a group of residents hard at work creating something sure to beat the Winter Blues … homemade stress balls! What a creative project made of flour and spare balloons! In the afternoon, the dedicated Farkle crew met in the Square to throw dice and enjoy some friendly banter. After supper, residents gathered for an hour of fellowship and music with Jordan Herrick in the Rotunda. We sure do appreciate him taking time to visit us with his inspiring message.
We gathered in the Square Friday morning for Gospel Sing a Long. We love picking out our favorite hymns to sing. Kathy and Bruce lead us in this hour of music and prayer. Friday afternoon, Dime Bingo was played in the Square. What a great way to end the week.
Thank you to all of the generous donors and volunteers who made our Annual Wine & Beer Tasting event on Saturday a huge success. A good time was had by all!
