Glenhaven News
Dec. 14-20
Father John was here for Catholic Mass on Friday morning. Residents also enjoyed fresh popcorn, and a game of shuffleboard in the afternoon. Selma was the big winner!
Residents were treated to manicures on Saturday by Amy, and Gavin cut out snowflakes to decorate their rooms.
The Sunnyside Shamrocks 4-Hers entertained the residents with Christmas carols on Sunday afternoon.
Monday we started the day out with exercises in the morning, and then put calories back on by baking in the afternoon. We made more Christmas cookies for the Christmas Eve service, which will be Christmas Eve morning at 9:30 in the upstairs lobby. Pastor Shannon from the Boyceville Methodist Church will be presiding. Services will be followed by refreshments.
Tuesday residents enjoyed Christmas movies.
Wednesday was beauty shop day, and also Bible Study with Pastor Jonathan in the morning. Afternoon Bingo was hosted by the Glenhaven Auxiliary. They had some really neat Christmas prizes for the residents. Thanks to Ione, Linda and Karen for helping host. Bingo was followed with entertainment from the KOOL kids from the Glenwood Methodist Church. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the KOOL kids, it stands for “Kids of Our Lord.” They did a terrific job of singing, accompanied by John McCutchin on the guitar, which was followed by a Christmas skit, and stringing cranberries with the residents to be hung out for the birds. They had a very busy afternoon.
Thursday afternoon we were treated to music by the Lisa Peterson family from Knapp. What a talented group! They played the piano beautifully, as well as violins. They are a group of 5 kids and Mom, all of which sing like little angels. It was a real treat to have them here.
Friday brought popcorn day, some of which was enjoyed while the Boyceville High School band and choir made their yearly visit to play for us. They sounded great, as always. They played a lot of old favorites, and some of the residents were singing along. Thank you so much for coming each year.
Thank you to all our terrific volunteers for sharing your time and many talents with us all. What better Christmas gift could we ask for! A Merry Christmas to all our readers.
