“Hell Yes, We’re Gonna Take your AR-15”
Do those words get your attention? According to an article from the American People Daily, which stated: “You are in good company because you weren’t the only one who had a reaction and response. That phrase was uttered by long-shot presidential hopeful and Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke. It isn’t uncommon to see mudslinging from across the aisle, from either side. It also isn’t uncommon to see pointed banter and trash talking between opposing sides or parties. This, however, was a different kind of verbiage altogether and even bordered on threatening.”
Just for your information about what an “AR-15” is. The “AR” in AR-15 rifle stands for Armalite Rifle, after the company that developed it in the 1950s. “AR” does not stand for “assault rifle” or “automatic rifle.” An assault rifle is fully automatic, a machine gun. Automatic firearms have been severely restricted from civilian ownership since 1934.
I have been following politics in Washington since the election of John Kennedy over Richard Nixon in 1960 and at no other time since then has this country been so divided as it is now. There is apparently no room for discussion between the different opinions or beliefs. Just hammer away with attempting to whitewash the American public.
The Wicked Witch of the West, Nancy Pelosi, calling for impeachment of the president is just one items of trying to divide the country. House rules allow the majority party (Democrats) to have subpoena powers, which allows them to call witnesses to testify in Congressional hearings. Before the Republicans can defend their side of the story, the house needs to vote on the impeachment, and that will make all parties playing with a level field.
But, what I think is that Pelosi knows that her party’s impeachment of the president will go nowhere and she hopes that she can whitewash the America people with this until the 2020 election.
Let’s just think about Pelosi’s motive. If she can get Trump removed and along with him, vice president Pence and then she would become President. What a terrible thought!
Civil War?
This from an article written in the BU Today (a publication of Boston University) titled “Are we headed for Another Civil War?”
A recent Washington Post headline says: “America, talk turns to something not spoken for 150 years: Civil War.”
According to BU Today: “The story references, among others, Stanford University Historian Victor Davis Hanson, who asked in a National Review essay last summer: How, when and why has the United States now arrived at the brink of a veritable civil war?
Another Washington Post Story reports how Iowa Republican Congressman Steven King recently posted a meme warning that red states have eight trillion bullets in the event of a civil war. And a poll conducted last June by Rasmussen Reports found that 31 percent of probable U.S. voters surveyed believe “It’s likely that the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years.”
A contributing columnist for the Washington Post, Gary Abernathy, penned the following printed in the St. Paul newspaper last Thursday. “President Donald Trump was scolded for tweeting a comment by Southern Baptist preacher Robert Jeffress suggesting that removing Trump from office before his term ended would cause a Civil War like fracture.
Abernathy continued, “First, the vast majority of Trump supporters are not vicious, ignorant rednecks caricatured in some quarters. Second, it would require at least 20 GOP senators to ignore Trump’s base and join Democrats to reach the two-thirds necessary to convict, an unimaginable scenario. If evidence of wrongdoing becomes so undeniable that even the base abandons Trump, who is left to march?
“As Ramesh Ponnuru, writing on the subject in Bloomberg, put it for the president to be removed, Trump’s supporters would need to have dwindled to a hard core, and even some of them would be able to see how badly outnumbered they had become.”
“Whatever happens, the threat of some widespread violent uprising is nil.”
He concludes with: “And, before we know it, the election will roll around, where Trump’s fate will be decided by the voters, a proper resolution, anticlimactic though it might seem.”
Here is what I am suggesting! Congress go on vacation until next April and have the president’s executive order powers eliminated, except for acts of war. I think we will all survive for six months without having to put up with all this garbage that has been thrown around by all parties.
Thanks for reading! ~Carlton
