GLENWOOD CITY —Careless driving was the cause of an accident on late Tuesday afternoon, October 1.
Larissa Pelzel, of Clear Lake, was headed west on Oak Street when she looked down to plug in her phone charger causing her Trailblazer to hit a parked vehicle owned by Terry Bazille, of Emerald.
Bazille’s truck was then pushed up on to the sidewalk near Leaker’s Place, this resulted in a third vehicle, owned by Melissa Ulrich, of Clear Lake, being struck according to the police report provided by Glenwood City Police Chief Robert Darwin.
Pelzel was cited for operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner, and her vehicle was towed due to disabling damage done to the passenger side.
The Glenwood City Fire Department responded and helped in the clean-up of leaking gasoline from Pezel’s vehicle.
The rain that day did not play a factor in the incident, and no one was injured.
