HUDSON — A single-vehicle crash in St. Joseph Township on March 27 resulted in St. Croix County’s fourth traffic fatality of 2019.
Brian T. Foster, age 35 of Hudson, was killed in the accident that happened on State Highway 35 approximately 1/10 of a mile north of Cedar Dr. in St. Joseph Township around 10:49 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
Preliminary investigation and statements from witnesses indicates a 2011 Ford Focus, being driven by Foster was southbound on State Highway 35. Foster passed another vehicle at a high rate of speed, went onto the west shoulder and struck the guardrail. Foster’s car then went airborne and landed back on the guardrail and then struck a tree. The car came to rest against the tree.
Foster, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul by Life Link helicopter. Foster died at Regions Hospital on Thursday April 4, 2019 due to his injuries.
Authorities stated that alcohol may be a possible factor in the crash.
Assisting at the scene, were the North Hudson Police Department, St. Joseph Fire & First Responders, Somerset Fire, Lakeview EMS, and Life Link helicopter.
The crash remains under investigation by the St. Croix County Sheriffs Office.
