Boyceville Board of Education chooses TCE’s Nick Kaiser as new Superintendent

BOYCEVILLE – The Boyceville Board of Education announced that current Tiffany Creek Elementary principal Nick Kaiser has been chosen from a field of three finalist to become the district’s new superintendent.
Kaiser will be taking over for current Superintendent Kevin Sipple beginning on July 1.
“Nick will be working with me over the next few months in order to make the transition a smooth one,” Sipple explained.
The Board met with 17 different applicants throughout the process and finally decided in special meeting Monday morning, February 18, to offer the position to Kaiser.
The other two finalists for the position were David Oldenberg and Jeff Mastin, who accepted another position during Boyceville’s hiring process.
With Kaiser moving into the role of administrator for the Boyceville Community School District, a search for a new principal at TCE will begin immediately.
Kaiser joined the district in July of 2007 when he took the job as principal at TCE.
Sipple, who announced his retirement last summer, came to the Boyceville district in July of 2008 when he was named high school/middle school principal. In August of 2010, Sipple was promoted to superintendent.
With the recent weather phenomenon both the elementary and middle/high schools have had to rearrange a lot of the dates to make up dates the schools were closed due to the weather.
“The March 1 in-service day has been changed to a full school day with students,” Kaiser commented. “All due to many inclement weather days.”
High school juniors were set to take the ACT testing this last Wednesday, February 20, but weather played a factor and the date has been set back to March 12, according to middle/high school principal Tyler Moy.
“All of the test keys will be packed back up and sent back,” Moy commented. “But the work keys portion of it did take place on Thursday, February 21.”
The School Board along with Tyler Moy congratulated senior Jaden Reisimer for earning a 4.0 GPA and the title of valedictorian for the Boyceville Class of 2019. It was also announced that Mark Timper will be the class salutatorian.
Reisimer was also named the recipient of the Academic Excellence Scholarship which goes to the student with the highest GPA at the end of seven semesters.
If Reisimer declines the scholarship it will go to the alternates in order of next highest GPA, the order would be as follows: Mark Timper, Sarah Kapsner, Jaida Peterson and Brock Schlough.
Superintendent Sipple also interjected a congratulations to Mr. Kaiser, staff and students at Tiffany Creek Elementary for being nominated for the National Blue Ribbon School award.
The award is based on the closing of achievement gaps, the actual award winner will be announced in the fall.
During the meeting the Board of Education:
•Approved the 2018-19 Budget Revisions.
•Accepted the resignation of Jordan Anderson as head football coach.
•Accepted the resignation of Nichole Salewski as a paraprofessional.
•Approved Jaden Reisimer as the Academic Excellence Scholarship award winner.
•Approved the second reading of Board Policy Updates
The Boyceville Board of Education will meet again on Wednesday, March 20, with the meeting beginning at 6 p.m.
