Marie Luella Booth, age 70, of Glenwood City, WI passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Parkview Nursing Home in Woodville, WI with hospice.
Marie was born June 19, 1948 in St. Paul, MN. to Elroy and Leona (Heuer) Volkert. Marie married Gary Booth on April 19, 1969 in Hudson, WI.
They farmed in the Glenwood City area as well as briefly in Roberts and New Richmond, WI area. She also worked as a milk tester for Scott Heinbach for several of years, enjoying being able to visit with farmers and share her love for people and the dairy industry. She also worked several years at Stockmans, she was mainly know as “the shoe lady”. Again visiting and making customers satisfied. With her hip failing she took a less taxing job at Kwik Trip, where she could still maintain visiting with people in general, until she could no longer work.
Marie was a member of the St. Croix Riders Saddle Club, Glenhigh Riders Club and the St. Croix Valley PRCA Rodeo Committee. She very active in her faith, engaging in Marriage Encounters Group. Her favorite thing was sharing her witness, faith and love for Jesus Christ. She was also a 4-H leader sharing her knowledge of caring for both horses and dairy cattle.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Gary, son Wes Booth (Missy Patrie) of Glenwood City, WI. Grandchildren Maddie and Amara Booth, Sisters Betty Edgar and Carol Buettner- Brooks. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Reverend Jonathan Zielske. Friends may call at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local arrangements by the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI.
