BOYCEVILLE — This coming Saturday, December 8, folks in and around the Boyceville area will have the opportunity to show off their Christmas spirit with the 18th annual Spirit of Christmas celebration.
The festival will get underway on December 7 with the judging of businesses and homes for the best Christmas decorations. There is also a “Golden Ornament” treasure hunt that will take place during the one day event with the winner receiving a cool $100 for discovering its location.
There will also be a gingerbread house decorating contest with the winner earning a $100. Gor further questions about the contest and to register see someone with Peoples State Bank and the Boyceville Methodist Church.
Children can make their way to the community center for breakfast with Santa starting at 8:30 a.m. and going until 11:00 a.m. for those who just can’t get themselves out of bed as the sun begins to rise.
Also starting at 8:45 a.m. To 11 a.m. Food Harvest Ministry (formally Eagles Nest) will host a holiday painting party. To reserve a spot please call 715-665-2829 and ask for Deb, the price is $40 per person.
Tiffany Creek Elementary will host this year’s craft and vendor sale from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Trinity Lutheran Church will hold a silent auction and lefse/bake sale from 9:00 to 3:00 p.m. and festival goers are welcome to purchase sweet treats throughout the day.
The annual vintage snowmobile show will begin on Main Street at 10 a.m. for registration and at 1:00 p.m. Awards will be given out, for any questions check out the Facebook page.
If you’re looking for ways to add on some new ornaments to your tree head to the Boyceville Public Library from 2 to 4 p.m. for the make and take ornaments and singing of Christmas carols.
Christmas Central will be held on Main Street and will open at noon, festival goers will be able to purchase Lovelight Lanterns, warm up around the bon fire, take a few pictures at the Christmas selfie station and decorate gingerbread houses. There will be free hot dogs and smores starting at 5 p.m., sponsored by Peoples State Bank and the Boyceville United Methodist Church.
Buckshots will host a few rounds of bingo starting at noon and go until 3 p.m.
Starting at 4 p.m. the Celebration on Main Street begins with a chili and soup cook off, then a live nativity scene at 4:30 p.m., the lighting of the community Christmas tree and Lovelight Lantern release at 5 p.m. and finishing out the day’s activities with the Lighted Chrismtas parade at 5:30 p.m. and a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus immediately following.
