Our grandpa, Thomas E. Dunbar, age 78 of Menomonie, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, October 17,2018 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born July 8, 1940 in Emerald, Wisconsin to Larry and Jeanette (Scholl) Dunbar. Tom attended Emerald Elementary School and Glenwood City High School. He later attended Dunwoody Technical School in St. Paul to begin his career in autobody repair. He opened his own business in Eau Claire, and later went into business with his son Pat.

Papa or “Pops” as we called him, shared his love of travel with us taking us to many national parks, Disney World and Canada. Papa was always up for an adventure from going to the casino, to fishing at the lake or taking a drive to show us where he grew up. He also enjoyed his annual trip to Deadwood with his son Pat and friends.

Many evenings you could find Papa watching a Brewers game or frying up a steak for his grand-dog Cletus.

Tom is survived by his wife Jo, son Pat of Menomonie, daughter Michele (John Register) of Menomonie and daughter Kim of Eau Claire, granddaughters; Taylor, McKenna and Ally Register. He is preceded in death by his parents; Larry and Jeanette Dunbar and his in-laws Nicholas and Veronica Kadinger.

A private memorial service will be held for the family at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie.

He loved being our grandpa and we will cherish all the time we spent with him. Until we meet again.

Love, Bugs, Big M and Alabama
