Elaine Fladten Beyrer, age 89, was carried to heaven in the arms of Jesus on Monday, August 20, 2018.
She was born in rural Prairie Farm to Odin and Gendina (Hollen) Fladten. Elaine attended Vanceburg School and graduated from Prairie Farm High School in 1946. On March 16, 1951 Elaine married Raymond Beyrer and farmed alongside her husband while raising 6 children. They were married 50 years, and she remained living on the farm in Connorsville until her death.
She was an active church and community member. She enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening, sewing, quilting, rosemaling, woodworking, taxidermy, knitting, crocheting, painting, and fishing. Elaine and Raymond enjoyed spending time at the cabin at Winter, Wisconsin and were snowbirds in Mercedes, Texas for many years.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents; siblings; Genevieve, Omar, and Verlyn; husband Raymond; son Steven; daughter Debra; and grandson Mark. She is survived by two daughters and two sons; Karen (Randy) Zemke, Cindy (Dave) Shaw, Eldon Beyrer, and Randy (Jayme) Beyrer. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren; Amy, Stacy, Tony, John, Shelly, Alissa, Caysie, Bridgette, Brianna, Brandon, and Brittanee; 15 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Fladten, Dorothy Harnisch, and Christella Beyrer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Connorsville with Rev. Gregory Becker officiating. The funeral service is at 1 p.m., with visitation starting at 11 a.m. at the church. Anderson Funeral Home, Glenwood City, is assisting the family with arrangements.
