Colfax competes in KC Relays

LACROSSE — Members of Colfax’ boys’ and girls’ track and field teams had the opportunity to compete against some tough competition at the Knights of Columbus Relays hosted by LaCrosse Aquinas at the Veteran Memorial Stadium on the UW-LaCrosse campus last Saturday.

Sophomore Morgan Jensen was the lone Vikings representative to score points for Colfax. Her throw of 104 feet in the discus earned her a fourth-place finish and gave the Viking girls its only five points and a 15th place team finish in the April 28 meet. The boys team did not score.

Several of the Vikings’ relay squads just missed finishing in the top eight and scoring points.

The boys’ 4×100 meter team of Dennan Fogarty, Adam Pretasky, Luke Heidorn and Jeremy Artist placed ninth. The same group also finished 11th in the 4×200 meter race. The boys’ 4×400 meter team (Trevor Rothbauer, Ed Hydukovich, Trey Hovde and Noah Heidorn) and the Distance Medley squad (Dennis Sonnentag, Noah Heidorn, Brady Lawrence and Trevor Rothbauer) both finished 15th.

The ladies all sophomore quartet of Morgan Schleusner, Samantha Pretasky, Jayna Bowe and Kameri Meredith just missed points, taking ninth in the 4×200 meter relay and then placed 11th in the 4×100. The ladies Distance Medley (Juelia Berger, Erica Kallstrom, Hailey Prince and Mackenzie Jensen) took 14th.

The best individual performance for the boys was turned in by sophomore Ed Hydukovich, who threw the discus 124’ 3” to place 11th.

Mackenzie Jensen took 13th in the girls’ 3,200 meter run.
