Colfax Dance Team competes at State

The Colfax Dance Team was one of 13 Division 5 teams in the state to earn a spot to perform at the WACPC State Dance Competition in LaCrosse on Saturday, February 3.

Colfax was one of the last teams selected to perform so squad’s goal was to improve its  rank. The team changed a minor part of the routine due to feedback from the Regional competition and worked to improve itsweakest parts of the performance during the one week between Regionals and State.

The girls earned high marks for their showmanship and smooth transitions. Team double turns were executed very well. Remarks were that they used the floor space with unique and creative movements while incorporating levels. They have a uniform team style and work well together.

Overall, Colfax earned 8th place out of the 13 teams. This was an excellent achievement by itself but the squad also came very close to a 5th place award as there were only 15 points separating 5th through 8th place. It was such a close competition.

“I am very proud of all this team has accomplished this year,” said Coach Seston. “And it’s not over yet! Come see the dance team at halftime during basketball games with new fun routines.” [/emember_protected]
