These Bulldogs finished the regular season on a sprint.
Wrestling five duals in as many days, the Boyceville wrestling team enjoyed a clean sweep of its final week of competition before heading into the WIAA tournament series which will get underway this Saturday, February 10 with regional competition.
[emember_protected] On the heels of their 48-28 road win over rival Glenwood City January 30, Jamie Olson’s Boyceville wrestlers logged several more miles while adding four more wins to bring its season dual meet tally to an impressive 19-5 with wins against Division 1 Eau Claire North last Friday and a 3-0 performance the following day in the North Branch, Minnesota Quadrangular.
The Bulldogs proved to be the tougher breed, beating the Huskies of EC North 43-21 in the UW-Eau Claire McPhee Center February 2.
Boyceville then remained unbeaten in 2018 by posting a pair of lopsided wins and a nailbiter Saturday in North Branch. The Bulldogs defeated the hosts 58-9, blanked Pine City-Hinckley-Finalayson 75-0 and nipped Grand Rapids, an honorable mention in the Gopher State’s Class AA state poll, 39-38.
