Colfax Dance team finished second in D-SC Conference competition

Colfax was one of five teams that competed Saturday, January 13, in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference competition at Prescott, WI.

The Colfax Dance Team had their best results yet this year.

The Vikings Pom routine to “Unstoppable/Levels” mix by Sia/Avici had great group work and nice levels. The team’s showmanship was spot on.

The Jazz routine to “Hero” by Pegboard Nerds has a great beginning peal and an excellent ending with the yelling and the final pose.

Colfax earned second place in both routines. The Mondovi Dance team with their Pom and HipHop routines won the Dunn-St. Croix Conference Championship this year.

The Colfax dancers will be working on strength in all arm movements for both routines and continuing to practice all their skills in the next two weeks before they perform at the WACPC regional competition on January 27 at Wausau East High School, Wausau.

The Colfax Dance Team also had two soloists perform at the conference competition. Both soloists, Caroline Dworak and Haley Seston, earned first team all-conference awards. To earn this award the girls had to be in the highest scoring group of soloists. Cari performs an emotional performance to “You Matter to Me” by Drew Gehling and Jessie Mueller. Haley performs an energetic performance to “Solo Dance” by Martin Jensen. Both girls had great performances and will be continuing to perfect their dances for the WACPC regional competition.

This will be the first year soloists perform live at regionals vying for a chance to perform at State in LaCrosse, WI. Both girls will perform their solos at the basketball game this Friday, January 19.
