Colfax Varsity Dance Team earns awards in all performances at Menomonie Holiday Classic

The Colfax Varsity Dance team had their first competition of the season on Saturday, December 2. They competed at the Menomonie Holiday Classic Dance Competition at Menomonie High School.

This is an open competition with only 2 categories, small and large schools. That means that Colfax, a D5 school, competed against D3 and D4 size schools. The Colfax dancers earned awards for each of their performances. Their Pom routine earned a 5th place trophy. The judges liked their group work and good use of poms. The song for this routine was a blend of “Unstoppable” by Sia and “Levels” by Avici. The girls create their own choreography for their routines and the Pom routine choreography was led by Captains Cari Dworak & Angel Woodford and Senior Allison Tuschl. Next, their Jazz routine earned a 3rd place trophy. The judges loved the interesting ripple in the beginning and gave the team a high score on their showmanship. The choreography for this routine was led by Haley Seston and Captain Cari Dworak. Lastly, Cari Dworak and Haley Seston both performed solos in the small school division. First, second, and third place medals were awarded in this category. Cari Dworak earned 1st place with her solo and Haley Seston earned 3rd place with her solo. “I am very proud of their performances at this competition. Their work ethic is incredible. They work well together and support each other in their individual accomplishments and help each other improve as a team,” said Coach Seston.
