GLENWOOD CITY — Glenwood City High/Middle School is proud to announce the September Students of the Month. Optimism was the character trait that was the focus of the month; if a person is continually optimistic, they always have a positive outlook when faced with adversity. Our staff has identified the following students who always demonstrate these traits in their daily interactions.
The September Student of the Month at Glenwood City High School is senior, Alexandria Holldorf. In nominating Alexandria, Mr. Lamb stated, “Alex comes to class with a smile on her face every day. She is always ready to help others. This past marching season she served as color guard captain. When a few members moved away and we had to change things up, Alex made the best of it and found solutions to fix the issue. The definition of optimism is hopefulness and confidence. I feel that Alex exemplifies this characteristic.” Alexandria is the daughter of Valorie Holldorf and Cory Holldorf.
The September Student of the Month at Glenwood City Middle School is seventh grader, Trenton McNamara. Trenton was recognized by Ms. Holter. Ms. Holter. “Even though he struggles academically, he is always will to try any learning activity he has been assigned. If it does not go well, he never gives up. Trenton is always proud of his work and excited to participate in the classroom.” Trenton is the son of Trista and Brandon Engle.
Students of the Month are rewarded by having a lunch provided for them and a friend as well as being issued a unique piece of Hilltopper apparel. In addition, students are provided with preferential parking (for them or a family member) for all school events.
Congratulations to Alex and Trenton!
