BOYCEVILLE — Boyceville’s senior volleyball players finished the 2017 regular season in style with a senior-night win over Plum City.
The Lady Bulldogs honored their seven seniors with a 3-1 home win over the Elmwood Raiders Thursday, October 12 in the conference and regular season finale for both squads.

The Boyceville ladies appeared in full control of the first two sets, winning the first 25-13 before slamming down the Raiders with a 25-11 second. Elmwood fired back in the third set, earning a 26-24 win to make the game 2-1 and force the Bulldogs to play a fourth set.
The fourth served as something of a thriller, with the Lady Bulldogs putting the Raiders away for good after a long battle to win 25-21.
Peterson said sophomore Taylor Grambow had an excellent night at the net, nailing eight kills, something that does not happen without good passing, and setters putting the ball where needed. The Bulldogs recorded only three aces on the night, but had long serving runs from Jaida Peterson, Mariah Drury, Hannah Johnson and Tyra Kostman to keep momentum rolling for the win.
Grambow and Johnson led Boyceville’s attack stats with eight kills each, Haley Wold provided another five, and Satina Chilson nailed one. Amber Retzloff set up 12 scoring attacks, while Drury set up another 11.
Jaida Peterson recorded 21 digs, Johnson logged nine, Alyx Bloom took eight, and Mariah Schlottman is credited with one.
The win allowed Boyceville to cap the conference season with a 2-6 record while it upped its overall mark to 5-16.
The Bulldogs were seeded 14th in the WIAA Division 3 volleyball sectional half bracket, and opened regional play last night (October 17) with a quarterfinal’s match on the road against third-seeded Colfax, who claimed their fifth straight Dunn-St. Croix championship with a win over Mondovi. The winner of the match-up will face the winner of the Unity/Cameron match Thursday, October 19. The regional championship will be played Saturday night, October 21. [/emember_protected]
