WHEELER — The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found unconscious in a Wheeler home last week.

According to a press release received from the office September 28, the Dunn County 911 Communications Center received a report of an unidentified male subject found on the bathroom floor of a house on Hillside Drive in Wheeler at 2:41 p.m. September 27.

Several Dunn County deputies and the Colfax Rescue Squad responded to the call, but it was determined upon arrival that the male was deceased and unable to be revived. The Dunn County Medical Examiner was called to the scene, and upon further investigation an autopsy was determined to be necessary.

The autopsy was performed September 28, and no physical injuries were found indicating foul play or cause of death. Blood samples were taken for toxicology tests and to assist in determining the cause of death.

In an October 3 phone call to the sheriff’s office, the Tribune Press Reporter learned no further information is available for release due to the ongoing investigation.
