AGLENWOOD CITY — An Altoona man has been arrested after posting a threat on Facebook to shoot participants at the Glenwood City All-School reunion during this weekend’s Rustic Lore celebration.
Nicholas D. Osterkamp, 24, was taken into custody without incidence at his Altoona residence at approximately 3:33 p.m. Thursday, September 7 by the Altoona and Eau Claire Police Departments.
According to a news release, the Glenwood City Police Department became aware of the threat of gun violence that Osterkamp had posted on Facebook around 10 a.m. earlier that day.
After conducting an investigation, the Glenwood City Police Department was able to determine that Osterkamp had written the post.
Authorities recovered a .40 caliber handgun and a 12-gauge shot gun from Osterkamp’s residence.
He is being currently being held in the Eau Claire County Jail pending charges for felony terroristic threats, according to the news release.
Glenwood City Police Chief Robert Darwin said he believes the threat posted on Facebook is an isolated incident and that he does not believe there is any continuing danger to the public.
The Glenwood City Police Department is working with the Glenwood City school district and Rustic Lore event organizers, along with other area law enforcement agencies, to ensure the public remains safe during the Glenwood City All-School Reunion.
