Attorney General Brad Schimel has appointed Hudson-area resident Stephen J. T’Kach to the Wisconsin Crime Victims Council to serve as a citizen representative.
The mission of the Council is to advise the Attorney General on matters important to victims of crime, and work to prevent victimization as well as to improve the criminal justice system response to victimization. The appointment is to a term that expires in June 2019 and the Council meets quarterly in Madison to work on victim issues. T’Kach currently serves as the interim director of the St. Croix County Emergency Support Services Department in Hudson.
Prior to his county employment, T’Kach headed a victim’s rights office in the criminal division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC, while serving as director of the Federal Witness Security Program. He was later appointed as deputy general counsel for INTERPOL-Washington. He is an honors graduate of the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
