Fatality occurs in Cylon Township

TOWN OF CYLON — On Saturday, May 20, 2017 at approximately 6:36 a.m. the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two vehicle crash in the 2400 block of State Highway (STH) 63/64, in Cylon Township.

Initial investigation indicates that a 2010 Chevrolet Impala was eastbound on STH 63/64 driven by Nicholas J. Fellman, age 28, of Amery, WI. The Fellman vehicle was making a left hand turn into a private driveway, when a 2004 Dodge Ram truck that was westbound on STH 63/64 collided with his passenger side. The Dodge Ram was operated by Chad J. Bowers, age 41, of Ridgeland, WI.

Nicholas Fellman suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was flown by Life Link III from the scene to Regions Hospital. Chad Bowers was not injured. The sheriff’s office was notified by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office that Fellman had died due to his injuries on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

Initial observations at the scene indicated Fellman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Chad Bowers was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Assisting in the scene response were the New Richmond Fire and Ambulance Services, Deer Park Fire and First Responders, and the Clear Lake Fire Department. The crash remains under investigation by the St. Croix County Sheriffs Office. This is St. Croix County’s 4th traffic fatality of 2017.
