Colfax PD reports 46 calls for service in December

COLFAX  —  The Colfax Police Department has reported there were 46 calls for service in December. The Colfax Village Board received the police department report during the January 23 meeting. 

• Assist other agency: 3 — Report of a suspicious vehicle in the county, located and stopped in Colfax; ambulance call in the county; a warrant assist for Chippewa County.

• Assist citizen: 2 — Person locked out of their house; vehicle stuck off road.

• Ambulance assist: 1.

• Traffic complaint: 2 — abandoned vehicle; railroad crossing arms going up and down.

• Domestic: 1 — family argument; two subjects arrested and taken to jail.

• Disorderly: 1 — subject threatening people.

• Paper service: 1 — restraining order served.

• Check welfare: 2 — student not in school; concern for elderly person.

• Information: 1 — possible drug activity.

• Warrant: 1 — wanted subject no longer resided in town. 

• Ordinance ticket: 2 — parking violations. 

• Theft: 1 — theft of electricity from a residence.

• Fire call: 2 — residential house fire; commercial fire alarm.

• Fraud: 2 — possible stolen checks used; unauthorized credit card use.

• Trespass: 1 — possible trespass to business. 

• Harassment: 2 — text messages; unwanted family interaction/contact. 

• Animal complaint: 2 — barking dogs; stray dog taken to the humane society.

• Lost/found: 2 — found wallet and found cell phone.

• Miscellaneous: 2 — unfounded violation of a no contact order; possible stolen vehicle in the village (unfounded).

• Traffic accident: 2 — vehicle damaged by manhole cover; car struck pedestrian.
