Colfax man found guilty of first-degree child sexual assault

MENOMONIE  —  A 39-year-old Town of Colfax man has pleaded guilty to the first-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 16 and obstructing an officer.

Andrew D. Graffice appeared in Dunn County Circuit Court with his attorney, Christopher Bub, for a plea hearing January 18 before Judge James Peterson.

Judge Peterson accepted Graffice’s plea, found him guilty and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

The PSI must be filed with the court by March 15.

According to news reports, the victim was a 12-year-old boy.

Graffice was arraigned in Dunn County Circuit Court November 21 on the charges and demanded a speedy trial, which had been scheduled for February 1. 

A $1,000 cash bond for Graffice was set in Dunn County October 18. 

Judge Peterson ordered that the interviews on DVD and other exhibits be sealed.

A sentencing hearing for Graffice is scheduled in Dunn County Circuit Court March 29.
