B/C grapplers fare well against Independence/Gilmanton

OSSEO — The Bloomer/Colfax wrestling team which included three Colfax grapplers took to the road January 7 to compete in the Osseo Duals.

Last Saturday’s dual tournament held at Osseo-Fairchild High School featured teams from Osseo-Fairchild/Augusta/Fall Creek, Arcadia and Independence/Gilmanton as well as Bloomer/Colfax. The Blackhawks dual against the Independence/Gilmanton team were the only results from the tournament that were available at Monday’s (January 9) news deadline.

The Blackhawk team beat the Indees 53-18 after winning nine of 12 matches; the 106- and 126-pound matches were both double forfeits.

And all three Colfax wrestlers came up with wins.

Mitchel Harmon wrestled at 145 pounds, besting Indee Zach Taylor with a fall at 0:53 for six points. Tommy Anderson picked up another six after pinning Miranda Stegerwald at 1:01 of the first period. Cole Olson won the 195-pound match on a forfeit.

The Blackhawks have a busy slate this coming week. They hosted Superior in a Heart O’ North dual last evening before traveling to Ladysmith for an invitational Saturday, January 14 and to Barron next Tuesday, January 17 for another conference dual.
