COLFAX — The Colfax Board of Education has expelled a student at Colfax High School for possessing marijuana on school grounds.

The Colfax school board held an expulsion hearing during a closed session December 7.

The student was permanently expelled but with the option of early reinstatement to school at the beginning of the second semester of the current school year if certain specified conditions have been met by then, according to Colfax Superintendent Bill Yingst.

The Colfax Board of Education also expelled two high school students for drug related offenses in August.
