“Red Ceder Rousers Quartet” awarded first place at annual Bloomer Bash Quartet Showcase
BLOOMER — On September 20th, the Dunn County Barbershoppers held their 41st Annual Bloomer Bash Quartet Showcase in Bloomer, WI.
It was a night of harmonizing with 4 part a cappella singing, quartets that the guys had randomly formed. It was pretty exciting to have 21 of 28 active chapter members and 2 non-members perform in various quartets. Some of the singers even decided to perform out of their element, learning a voice part they don’t normally sing.
The contest was close, but the judges decided on three (3) quartet winners.
• 1st Place: “Red Cedar Rousers Quartet”: Gary Johnson, Randy Knaack, Bill Bird, all of Menomonie; and Craig Schultz of Colfax.
• 2nd Place: “FOUR FUN! Quartet”: Barry Dietsche, Bloomer; Steve Brantner, Mondovi; Terry Hoepner, Eau Claire; and Darrell Hoepner, Bloomer.
• 3rd Place: “Special Delivery Quartet”: Pat Hogan, Eau Claire; Neil Segerstrom, Mondovi; Pat Mulheron, Durand; and Dave Natzke; Menomonie.
The Dunn County Chapter of Barbershop Harmony is welcoming men of all ages to visit us as guests at our chorus rehearsals. The chorus is open to all men who enjoy singing. Weekly rehearsals are on Tuesdays beginning at 7:00 pm in the Colfax Lutheran Church basement, 600 Balsam St., Colfax, WI.
A great musical experience in 4-part a cappella harmony, a great community service, great fellowship and fun!
