$10,000 bail set for Elk Mound man charged with armed robbery in St. Croix County

HUDSON — Bail has been set at $10,000 cash for a 39-year-old Elk Mound man charged with armed robbery in St. Croix County.
Thomas Clinton Shearer, 220 South Holly Avenue in Elk Mound, made an initial appearance September 14 in St. Croix County Circuit Court on one felony count of armed robbery and one misdemeanor count of theft of movable property worth less than $2,500.
A cash bail of $10,000 was set in St. Croix County for Shearer September 13.
During the initial appearance, Shearer requested a speedy preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for September 22.
Shearer is charged as a party to the crime of armed robbery.
According to news reports, Shearer has been charged in connection with an incident in Emerald involving Michelle M. Twilley and Brent D. Bounds, both of Eau Claire.
Twilley, 35, is charged in St. Croix County with one felony count of armed robbery as a party to a crime and one misdemeanor count each of prostitution and neglecting a child.
Bail was set at $10,000 cash for Twilley in St. Croix County September 13.
Bounds, 44, is charged with one felony count of armed robbery as a party to a crime and one misdemeanor count each of pandering and neglecting a child.
Bail also was set at $10,000 cash for Bounds September 13 in St. Croix County.
Twilley and Bounds are scheduled for preliminary hearings September 22 as well.
Two men told investigators they had contacted Twilley for sex, that they had paid her for sex before and that two men had followed her into the residence, according to news reports.
Shearer was arrested in Colfax in 2010 for being in possession of a vehicle stolen in Georgia.
Dunn County Judge William Stewart Jr. accepted a deferred prosecution agreement in June of 2011 on the charge of taking and a driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent and sentenced Shearer to 20 hours of community service and counseling.
Shearer fulfilled the deferred prosecution agreement and the charge in Dunn County was dismissed in June of 2014.
