COLFAX — The Colfax Board of Education has expelled two high school students for drug related offenses.
The Colfax school board held an expulsion hearing during a closed session August 22.
The two students were expelled for drug-related offenses that occurred back in May, reported William Yingst, district administrator.
One of the students was expelled until the age of 21. The other student was expelled to a maximum of age 21 with an opportunity for early reinstatement, Yingst said.
Both of the expulsions were related to the possession of marijuana at school, he said.
Drug and alcohol possession or use on school grounds is taken very seriously by the Board of Education and the administration in a strong effort to keep all students safe, Yingst said.
