Culpepper and Merriweather circus tickets now available

COLFAX  —  Tickets for the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus that will be at the Colfax Fairgrounds July 18 are now available for purchase at various merchants around Colfax.

Members of the Colfax Commercial Club board of directors — the organization sponsoring the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus — ask that you prepare to pay for your circus tickets in cash.

The tickets will be available in advance until July 15 at the merchants, or you can contact the Colfax Commercial Club secretary to buy tickets over the weekend prior to the circus on July 18.

“We ask that you pay for the tickets in cash not because we don’t trust people to write checks, but because the turn-around time is so short,” said LeAnn Ralph, Colfax Commercial Club secretary.

The Commercial Club is responsible for settling up with the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus by 10 a.m. July 18 and going to the bank to cash checks and then recalculating the amounts for the tickets remaining and the money collected would be a problem for the time available on the Monday morning of the circus, she said.

Shows for the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus will be at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. July 18.

According to the contract with the circus, only Culpepper & Merriweather is allowed to sell tickets on the day of the event.

The circus will begin setting up at the Colfax Fairgrounds the morning of July 18, and people are welcome to come and watch them set up for the event, Ralph said.

The Big Top tent, according to information from Culpepper & Merriweather, is 140 feet by 100 feet (including stakes).

Advance tickets for the circus are $10 for adults and $7 for children ages 2 to 12 and those 65 or older.

On the day of the circus, tickets will be $13 for adults and $8 for children ages 2 to 12 and those 65 or older.

Tickets for the July 18 circus are available at Bremer Bank; Cedar Country Cooperative; Colfax Animal Hospital; Colfax Arts and Antique Mall; Colfax Health Mart; the Colfax Messenger; Colfax Railroad Museum; Colfax village office; Dairy State Bank; Deluxe Beauty Salon; Karl’s Chevrolet Kyle’s Market; and at A Little Slice of Italy after July 4.

And be sure to look for the Colfax Commercial Club’s booth at the Colfax Free Fair June 23 – 26.

Commercial Club members will have circus tickets at the fair booth as well.
