Colfax students earn industry certifications

This spring 21 Colfax High School students passed 35 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exams. The Business & Information Technology lab at CHS was set up by Mrs. Kara Zutter, B&IT Instructor, as an official Certiport testing center for Microsoft Office Specialist certification testing.

Students were able to take exams online that measured their skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. These exams are checked and scored by Certiport, and upon passing the exams the students receive an official certificate from Microsoft.

Of the 21 students, 12 students have passed multiple exams. Alex Geissler received recognition for the Microsoft Office Master Certification for passing multiple tests at the expert level. Colfax High School was one of only two schools in Wisconsin to have a student achieve the Master Certification.
