2016 Colfax graduates collect approximately $225,000 in scholarships

COLFAX — The Colfax Class of 2016 made quite a haul in the amount of monetary awards it received through scholarships from local an various post-secondary educational institutions.

Colfax high school principal John Dachel announced at the May 20 commencement that this year’s graduating class had been awarded approximately $225,000 in scholarship monies. The various awards went to 26 different members of the Class of 2016. Scholarship winners along with their various awards and amounts are listed below.

Andrea Brantner: Bremer Bank, $500; Colfax Kiwanis, $500; Sanger Foundation Scholarship, $500.

Andrew Buckley: Drama Scholarship, $100; Megan Robertson Walck Musicians Scholarship (Congregational Member), $500; Outstanding Senior Musician – Choir, $200.

Ben Christianson: Colfax Sportsmen’s Club, $250; Dunn County Dairy Promotion, $500; Lakeland Cooperative, $500; Michael J. Larson Memorial, $1,000.

Hannah De Moe: Ann Marie Foundation, $2,000; Marvel Wagensteen Entzminger Education Scholarship, $800.

Courtney Dressel: Colfax Class of 1957, $300; Colfax Kiwanis, $500; Colfax Sno-drifter’s Club, $400; Kyle’s Market Scholarship, $500; Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce, $500; Truax/Johnson Scholarship, $2,000/renewable; UM-Duluth Presidential Scholarship, $20,000.

Chyann Erickson: Colfax Class of 1957, $300; Hilson Trust Scholarship, $6,000 renewable; St. Cloud State Presidential Scholarship, $6,000 per year, renewable.

Dempsey Fogarty: Colfax Youth Basketball, $300; 1st Lt. Jeremy Wolfe Memorial, $500; Marlin Raveling Scholarship, $200.

Grady Gibson: American Red Cross, $250; Colfax Kiwanis, $500; Dairy State Bank, $500; Menomonie Lions Club, $1,000.

Trey Gullickson: All State Academic Excellence Award, $2,250 per year, renewable; Commercial Testing Lab, $250.00.

Tucker Hovde: Colfax Class of 1957, $300; Kyle’s Market Scholarship, $500; Lind Family Foundation, $200; Megan Robertson Walck Musicians Scholarship (Community Member), $500; Menomonie Optimist Club, $1,000.
