Colfax
The Vikings finished fifth in the meet and continued to struggle in conference meets so far this season. The Vikings finished the day shooting a 203 and it was senior Trevor Seston leading the way once again, this time with a 44.
Just a couple strokes behind was fellow senior Trey Guillickson with a 47. These two guys have been leading the Vikings the whole season and have been putting up great scores along the way.
The next two on the varsity team shot in the fifties, and they were senior Brett Prince with a 55 and senior Andy Buckley with a 57. Rounding out the varsity squad is a young face with Dennan Fogarty who is a freshman. Fogarty shot a 64 on the afternoon, but will have plenty of time to continue to improve.
Elk Mound
Elk Mound did not fare to well in Friday’s meet taking last overall and not playing their best golf of they year shooting a 207.
They were lead by standout junior Jameson Rubenzer who shot a 42 on the day which was good enough for a third place tie overall at the meet. After Rubenzer, the rest of the Mounders scores tallied in the fifties.
Taking second for the team was freshman, Dillon McLaughlin with a 52 and fellow freshman Maxwell Marquardt shooting a 55.
Rounding out the top five was senior Colin Svee and sophomore Nathaniel Schreiber both scoring a 58.
Elk Mound is a very young team that will have plenty of more opportunities to improve this year and the years to come.
The two teams were back in action at Durand’s Rolling Greens Golf Course on Monday, May 9.
