Colfax baseball trampled by Buffaloes

MONDOVI – The Colfax baseball team traveled to Mondovi on Thursday, April 21 and got taken down by a score of 18-4.
The Vikings are still searching for their first victory of the year as it has been a tough start to the season dropping their first five games.
Mondovi put the game away right away in the first inning as they scored seven runs in the bottom of the first and batted a round in the lineup. They were not done though as they eight more in the bottom of the second inning and again batting around in the order. The Vikings would get on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning by pushing across one run. In the bottom of the frame, Mondovi added another two runs. The bats started to come around for the Vikings as they scored another run in the fourth. The Buffaloes answered right back by scoring their last run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Colfax would finish strong on offense as they put two more on the board in the fifth.
Colfax could only manage seven hits in the game and they went to: senior Tyler Dawson; senior Zach Meyer with two; senior Jarrod Rudi; sophomore Brett Schindler; sophomore Mitch Kiekhafer; and Harmon.
Adding to their RBI total on the year was: Meyer, Schindler, Harmon, and senior Ben Christionson.
As the season is reaching its half way point, Colfax will look to pick up their first win of the year as they will be at Elmwood on Thursday, April 28.
