Colfax golfers finish in the middle of the pack at two-day meet

HAMMOND — The Colfax golf team was in action over the weekend on Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16 for a two-day event that spanned a pair of area golf courses.
As a team, Colfax finished 14th out of 22 teams. River Falls won the two-day meet with a total of 659 shots and Colfax finished with a total of 790.
On Friday, the teams were at Pheasant Hill Golf Course in Hammond and had to deal with high winds all afternoon which made it difficult to keep their shots on track. Leading the way on the first day was senior Brett Prince who shot a 90 and one shot behind him was senior Trevor Seston with a 91.
One other Viking was under 100 on the day and it was senior Trey Guillickson who shot a 96. Rounding out the last two spots for the Vikings were sophomore Richard Stehling with a 109 and senior Andy Buckley who finished with a 111.
After the first day, the team total was 386, which was good enough for 14th on the afternoon. Despite the high winds, the Vikings tallied better scores on Friday than they did on Saturday.
On the second day, the teams moved to the Bristol Ridge Golf Course near Somerset and the team score went up and so did every golfers’ individual score.
Leading the Vikings in day two was Seston who shot a 93 on the day. Following him was Guillickson and Prince who tied with scores of 99 on the day.
Finishing for the Vikings was Stehling with a 113 and Buckley added a score of 123. The team score at the end of day two was 404.
Individual totals from both days looked as followed: Trevor Seston with a score of 184; Brett Prince with a total of 189; Trey Guillickson finished with 195; Richard Stehling added a score of 222; and Andy Buckley rounded the Vikings out with a 234.
Trevor Seston finished tied for 39th overall in the two days and Brett Prince tied for 48th for the two-day meet.
