22 inducted into CHS chapter of National Honor Society

COLFAX — A total of 22 students were inducted into the Colfax High School chapter of the National Honor Society at a ceremony in the Martin Anderson Gymnasium March 30.
Selection for membership in the National Honor Society may be based on scholarship, leadership, service and character.
National Honor Society was founded in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
Those who were inducted into the Colfax chapter were Erika Brantner, Amanda Christianson, Hailey Durand-Christianson, Caroline Dworak, Emily Evenson, Mackenzie Jenson, Caleb Korevaar, Rebecca Lee, Mikaela Leibfried, RyAnna Martinson, Makayla Mattison, McKayla Moore, Andrea Ottinger, Connor Paulsen, Adam Pretasky, Marcus Reisdorf, Leslie Ritenour, Andrea Scharlau, Rachel Sherman, Antoinette Sonnentag, Tiffany Tetzlaff and Allison Tuschl.
The welcome was given by Zachary Larson, and the introduction to current members was given by Tucker Hovde.
Hunter Lieffort presented the requirements, and Andrew Buckley spoke about the founding of NHS.
Trey Gullickson did the introduction of new members, with Isaac Lee focusing on character, Jacob Steinke doing scholarship, Jarrod Rudi presenting leadership, and Trevor Seston presenting service.
Marianne Scharlau lead the NHS pledge, while Zachary Meyer presented the certificates of membership.
Salome Biden and Asger Kierkegaard were recognized as foreign exchange students. Dempsey Fogarty introduced Salome, and Chyann Erickson introduced Asger.
Daniel Schneider closed the ceremony.
Eve Suckow produced the certificates. Andrea Brantner and Tiernee Knutson designed the programs. Lisa Neuburg’s food class provided the desserts, and Dani Tuschl made the cake.
Trey Gullickson is the president of the Colfax chapter of NHS. Tucker Hovde is the vice president, while Courtney Dressel is the treasurer, and Marianne Scharlau is the secretary.
The NHS advisors are Mark Mosey; Lisa Neuburg; and Jennifer Steinke.
