Bloomer-Colfax wrestlers fall at home to Barron
Despite winning seven individual matches for the night, the Bloomer-Colfax wrestling team lost a conference dual match 39-32 against Barron in Bloomer Jan. 28.
Starting with the 285 pound match, B-C’s Ryan Ratcliff got the night started on a positive note with a pin at 0:59, but Barron took the next five matches. Cody Goettl lost at 106 pounds for B-C in a fall at 1:21, B-C forfeited at 113 pounds, Jared Stoll lost at 120 pounds 8-6, Ike Kramschuster lost by a pin at 3:19 in the 126 pound match and B-C forfeited at 132 pounds.
Brady Simonson continued his mastery at 138 pounds with a 21-6 technical fall just five seconds before the third period ended which seemed to jump start the B-C boys. Jarrod Kressin won at 145 pounds 6-3 and Collin Bungartz took the 152 pound match with a fall at 2:15 before freshman Tommy Anderson lost at 160 pounds in a fall at 0:51. Zack Arvold put B-C back on track with a 6-3 decision at 170 pounds and Cole Anderson-Olson followed with more points for B-C with a 6-3 win at 182 pounds. B-Cs Brady Hedtke made things pretty interesting when he won at 195 pounds in a fall at 2:20 which put the team score at 33-32 for Barron but needing a win in the final match, Eric Wachtendonk went down via a pin in just 0:23 at 220 pounds.
