Colfax Health and Rehab News – 1-27-2016
It was COLD. How COLD was it? It was soooo COLD that the kids had to stay inside all weekend. Parents are now organizing a “teacher appreciation day” and football fans were actually ordering hot cocoa at the games.
Meanwhile at the Big Yellow House we stayed warm and toasty with wonderful meals, devotions, current events and exercise in the morning, restorative exercise at 1 and bounce ball in the rotunda at 6. When “Honey and Me” played their music on Monday afternoon the temperature went from warm to “Hot”. They are so good that several people from the area come to watch them perform every time they are here.
All week long we were full of activity. The beauty shop, as usual, had so many customers that some sat in the hall. While waiting their turn they enjoyed coffee and cookies. Cathy Davis was a busy little “B” this week (B is for Beauty Boutique). She brightened each one’s day with pretty colors.
Even the volleyballs were bright on Thursday. We used a very large yellow balloon during the game. The sun looked like it rose and set in the Square as it soared through the air until it burst. The Square was a bingo hall on Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon. Happy Hour after bingo on those days helps everyone stay warm and comfortable.
Friday morning Loretta led the Rosary in the East lounge. She is definitely a blessing. The Square was an area of worship with song. Glen Edberg led the sing, Bruce, played the guitar, and Delores accompanied them on the piano. Living here can keep us very busy if we choose.
