St. Croix County Health Center therapy pool grant received
The Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation recently granted $300,000 to the Fund to Benefit the St. Croix Health Center, a fund within the New Richmond Area Foundation, an affiliate of the St. Croix Valley Foundation.
This grant award will be used to construct the therapy pool for the new St. Croix County Skilled Nursing Home and Community Based Residential Facility currently under construction in New Richmond.
Tim O’Brien, New Richmond Area Community Foundation board chair, has advised that no fees will be charged to this fund so that the entire amount will be spent on the therapy pool.
There is great need for additional aquatic therapy within St. Croix County. This grant will allow St. Croix Health Center to move forward with this project, which will serve not only residents of the new skilled nursing facility and assisted living, but also other residents of any age throughout St. Croix County.
The goal of the Fund to Benefit St. Croix Health Center Committee is to recognize, support and amplify the quality of life for St. Croix County Health Center’s residents and other residents in need of aquatic therapy services. The Committee is working to encourage the community to support the facility through monetary contributions and volunteerism. The funds solicited will be used for projects, such as the therapy pool, that would not otherwise be funded.
Community residents interested in helping with funding this project may contact Committee members, Pat Jonas, Sue Esperson, Judith Remington, Stan Barr, Paulette Anderson or Suzanne Van Mele.
