Colfax Dance Team competes in Western Wisconsin Conference Competition Jan. 16

The Colfax Dance Team competed at Eau Claire Memorial High School on January 16 in the Western Wisconsin Conference Competition. In the morning Caroline Dworak and Chaela Lotts performed solos that they had been working on since before Christmas.

These two ladies did an excellent job in a very competitive competition. They earned 3rd and 4th place respectively separated by only 5 points. In the afternoon the team showed off their visual effectiveness in Pom with their sharp movements. One of the Pom judges commented, “nice synchronization, you dance well together”. The team earned 2nd place in Pom. The team showed off their creativity and originality in Jazz with their genuine enthusiasm. The comments on the judges sheets included, “fun theme, good use of peels, and nice smiles.” The team earned 1st place in Jazz. And with the combined scores with their 2 routines they came out on top and are the Dunn-St. Croix Conference 2016 Champions. “I am so proud of the accomplishments of this team especially considering that the majority of this team are in their 1st or 2nd year on the team. The girls work incredibly hard every day in practice so when they put on a show during halftime at the basketball games or at a competition they can make it look effortless.” commented Coach Vicki Seston. The team will compete again on January 23 at New Richmond High School in the WACPC Regional Competition. This competition determines if they can move on to the WACPC State Competition.
