Colfax Health and Rehab – 1-6-2016

Greeting from the Big Yellow House. Well where we do we start? This is the last week of 2015, where has the year gone? It was a busy week here and we had some more great meals.

Sunday’s meal was Turkey with stuffing and gravy, mixed vegetables and pie, Monday with the colder weather we heated it up with some Chili and cornbread. Boiled Dinner was on the menu and that is a fan favorite and the dessert was Strawberries and cream.

We do more than just eat around here though; our activities department was busy again keeping the people going on this last week of 2015.

Monday we had Devotions in the morning with our bean bag toss in the afternoon.

Tuesday afternoon was our weekly Bingo and it was the last Bingo of the year. The folks sure are looking forward to next year when we go back to Bingo two days a week.

Wednesday morning started out with our monthly men’s breakfast, 15 gentlemen filled their bellies with French toast, sausage, bacon and mixed fruit, coffee, juice and milk were the drinks of choice.  After a little nap Pastor DeMaris led us with our final service of the year and the folks here were singing Christmas songs so loud, I thought the roof was going to fall off. Wheel of Fortune filled the afternoon and the theme was all about Christmas, with the last puzzle being Santa Claus.

Thursday morning was volleyball where the ball was flying through the air along with much laughter. In the afternoon Andy Griffith and Barney Fife was on the T.V. Everyone was laughing so much that our bellies were starting to hurt. During the movie we had some pickled herring, summer sausage and cheese and crackers. To top it off we had a bit of bubbly to celebrate the coming of the New Year.

So as you can see we ended 2015 with a bang and we are bringing in 2016 with many more activities and more great food.

Stop in and see us some time as we always have cookies and coffee available.  From all of us at the Big Yellow House to all of you.

Happy New Year!!!!!!
