Colfax boys bomb Boyceville
BOYCEVILLE — After their loss to Durand a week earlier, the Colfax boys got back on the winning track with a 69-52 win at Boyceville Dec. 18. The win gives the Vikings a 2-3 overall record and a conference record of 2-1 with a game against Ellsworth on the slate Dec. 22 before they take a holiday break.
Colfax led 6-0 and maintained that lead at 12-6 before going on an 11 point run for a 23-6 advantage. Kedar Davis drained a trio of triples in the first half, Andrew Harmon drained a pair with a deuce in between, Brett Prince added a trey, Jarrod Rudi contributed with seven points on three close range shots and a free toss, Jacob Larson hit from the paint three times and Aliymu Davis dropped in a deuce to help the Vikings take a 35-20 lead into the intermission.
Boyceville cut the lead to 12 points a couple of times but the Vikings countered each time and kept the lead at 18-20 points for most of the second half. Harmon came up with eight more points and Kedar Davis 13 to help the cause and both teams paid several visits to the free throw line where Colfax knocked down 12 of 18 shots and Boyceville hit on 15 of 21.
Kedar Davis finished with a game high 22 points, Harmon collected 16 and Larson added a career high nine while George Scharlau scored his first varsity points with a deuce in the second half. The Vikings were 16 of 27 from the foul line and Boyceville was 16 for 23.
