Book Buddies construct flag for Veterans Day program

GLNEWOOD CITY — Book Buddies from Mrs. Tiberg’s and Mrs. Branigan’s classes worked together to construct a flag for the Veterans Day program.  Each student traced each others hand to form the stars and stripes on the flag.

The words above the flag the students are holding are, “A Hand For Our Veterans!” Prior to the flag construction, students viewed a short video emphasizing the history of Veterans Day.  Book buddies then partner read “A Day For Veterans.”  After they read the story, students wrote responses to a variety of questions.  This learning experience was enjoyed by all.
