Elk Mound presents fall sports awards
ELK MOUND — During individual banquets, awards in football, volleyball and cross country were presented for Elk Mound athletes after their respective seasons ended.
For football, the team MVP award went to junior Noah Zurbuchen while the Outstanding Leadership award went to seniors Ben Mack and Colin Svee. The Mounder Heart award was presented to seniors Jordan VanSchoonhoven and Teegan Peterson and juniors Hunter Adleman and Tyler Sahm. The Leading Tackler was junior Dane Lew, senior Justin Erpenbach was the Leading Blocker, Mack earned the Mr. Hustle award while sophomore Dylan Black won the Scout Team defense award and freshman Brett Lew the Scout Team Offense award. In addition, all seniors were recognized including Erpenbach, Alex Hollister, Mack, Chase Morris, Peterson, Svee, Cole Tyman and VanSchoonhoven. Student assistant-stat girls were also recognized. They are Sara Winchester, Taylor Deling, Waive Melgaard, McKenna McVey and Morgan McDougall.
Volleyball awards went to senior Hannah Flatness as the MVP, freshman Morgan Radtke was Most Improved, senior Serena Wieser won both the Hustle award and Sparkplug award while senior Kayla Black was presented the Coaches award and the Fireman award.
Cross country awards went to senior Nate Kruger as the boys’ MVP and junior Elizabeth Fasbender as the girls’ MVP, while Most Improved went to sophomore Bowdrie Noller for the boys and freshman Ciera Lind for the girls.
