DeMoe concludes golf season at sectional meet

HAMMOND — Colfax senior Hannah DeMoe finished off her high school golf career by placing in a tie for 21st place at the WIAA sectional meet held at Pheasant Hills Golf Course in Hammond Oct. 6. There were 48 competitors and the meet was won by Gabby Tremblay from Hayward who shot a round of 81.

DeMoe would have needed a score of 88 or less to advance to the state meet as an individual.

“Hannah did a phenomenal job at the sectional,” coach Kim Myers said. “She came just inches away from a hole-in-one on a par three hole on the back nine. As our only senior, she was a wonderful young women to coach and we will miss her.”

DeMoe has been a member of the team for all three years of its existence and this is the second year in a row she qualified for the sectional meet.

“I believe I really improved my game by playing on the team,” she said. “I had the chance to play against some great golfers and on a lot of different courses. I tried to be a good leader for the younger girls and I hope the program improves and more girls will choose to play for the team. It is a lifelong sport and a lot of fun,” she added.
