The Colfax girls’ golf team traveled to Osceola for a match at the Krooked Kreek Golf Course Aug. 27, then played at a meet in Hammond Sept. 3.
At Krooked Kreek, Hannah DeMoe took third out of 45 competitors. At the Hammond meet, DeMoe was fifth, again with 45 golfers in the competition. As a team, Colfax placed fifth out of nine teams in the match due to good performances by Megan Schleusner, Hannah Yingst, Kaely Rieck and Amanda Christianson, according to coach Kimberly Myers.
“The girls’ skills are coming along beautifully,” Myers said. “Junior varsity players Abby Klueckmann and Hannah Sykora especially are making great strides in their games. I expect that to continue as the season progresses.”
The Vikings’ next match is Sept. 9 at Prescott.
