Marshfield Clinic honors winner of Wisconsin Tar Wars poster contest

Marshfield Clinic, sponsor of the state of Wisconsin’s Tar Wars poster design winner, presented a special award to this year’s winner on Friday, June 26 in Eau Claire.

The recipient of this statewide award, Jerome Delikowski, is a fourth grader at Elk Mound Middle School.

Tar Wars is a national “tobacco-free” education program for fourth- and fifth-grade students. The program is designed to teach children about the short-term health effects and image-based consequences of tobacco use.

Owned and operated by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and implemented in classrooms by volunteers, the program has reached more than 10 million children worldwide since its inception in 1988.
