Is there any place of safety and security in this world? That we live in an unstable and dangerous world is plainly evident. We see it and hear of it daily. Further, the Bible predicted that such would be the case.
The Apostle Paul warned, “This know also, that in the last days perilous [dangerous] times shall come” (II Tim. 3:1). He then goes on to mention the many things that shall come to pass as time goes on including such things as being lovers of oneself, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, and a number of other things. That these things characterize our world today is plainly evident. Now, to answer the question, ‘Is there any place of safety and security in this world?’ The world itself cannot provide such safety. However, there is a place of safety found in God Himself. Safety is the result of believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The great promise is that, “…the righteous has an everlasting foundation” (Prov. 10:25). When one has trusted the Lord Jesus as Savior, nothing can separate him from the love of God! Yes, there is a place of safety and security, not in the world we live in but in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
