Colfax athletes compete in All Star games

Playing for the Division 4 North teams, Dannielle Dachel and Sawyer DeMoe, both recent graduates of Colfax High School concluded their high school basketball careers by participating in the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All Star game last month at the JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.

Dachel scored six points for the girl’s team as they lost 68-60 to the South team while DeMoe collected eight points and four rebounds for the boys in a 95-82 loss, also to the South team. Other players from the Dunn-St. Croix Conference on the boys team were Levi Wolf of Elmwood-Plum City and Jake Hierlmeier of Glenwood City who both scored two points. Eau Claire Regis product Billy Wampler was the leading scorer for the boys team with 19 points.

The five games in Divisions 1-5 are a fundraiser for the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Foundation and all participants are asked to raise money for the foundation. Colfax has been well represented the past few years with Mallie Doucette playing in 2014, Ryleigh prochnow in 2013 and Samantha Yolitz in 2012 for the girls while Ethin Kiekhafer played for the boys a year ago, Lane Olson in 2013 and Greg Christoffel in 2012.
