Elk Mound Science Olympiad team competes in state Division C meet

The Elk Mound Science Olympiad  team competed in the state Science Olympiad competition in Division C at UW-Stout in April and placed 27th out of 42 teams.

Katie Benson and Jordan Sorenson came in 14th in anatomy and physiology and 32nd in cell biology.

Isabella Cater and Makenna Zurbuchen placed 22nd in disease detectives.

Gabe LaRock and Zach Mohr came in 15th in entomology, 17th in green generation, 5th in invasives, 25th in geocaching, and 23rd in geo-logic mapping.

Rachel Caron and Elliot Johnson placed 30th on astronomy.

Kayla Black and Makenna Zurbuchen came in 27th in dynamic planet.

Hannah Flatness and Serena Wieser placed 36th on fossils.

Katie Benson and Jordan Sorenson came in 29th on chemistry lab.

Elliot Johnson and Jonas Kohls placed 30th on “It’s About Time” and came in 11th in compound machines.

Kayla Black and Serena Wieser placed 25th in forensics.

Katie Benson and Jordan Sorenson placed 15th in protein modeling.

Hannah Flatness and Makenna Zurbuchen placed 13th in food science.

Ben Mack and Matt McLaughlin came in 22nd in bridge building.

Rachel Caron, Ben Mack and Matt McLaughlin placed 15th in experimental design.

Isabella Cater and Hannah Flatness placed 11th in bungee drop.

Elliot Johnson, Ben Mack and Matt McLaughlin came in 3rd in code busters.

Ben Mack and Matt McLaughlin placed 30th in technical problem solving.

Rachel Caron and Gabe LaRock came in 26th in “write it do it.”
