Glenwood City High School hosts First Annual All-School Art Show

GLENWOOD CITY -— The hallways inside the Glenwood City School District were a sea of color this past week due to the first annual All-School Art Show that took place on Thursday, May 21st.

Art teachers Mary Jones and Laura Sperl were excited to display two pieces of artwork from every student in grades K-12, one piece of work from every middle school student, and artwork from every student taking art classes this year.

The show was a celebration of creativity, individuality and student talent. Winners of the juried high school art show include:

2nd Place: Ludwig Canonge, Title: GC’s Most Wanted, Medium: Marker

3rd Place: Jacinta Pagnotta, Title: Cabin at the Lake, Medium: Woodburning

2nd Place: Tyler Woodruff, Title:  Set of 3, Medium: Clay and Glaze

3rd Place: Kathryn Vang, Title: Kaneki, Medium: Batik Pillow

Outstanding Artwork Awards were given to Allison Curvello, Ashlee Speiser, Billy Norenberg, Brittany Clemens, Carlee Strong, Casey Lavender, Ellen Lindquist, Erin Drinkman , Hannah Ludtke (2), Jennifer Kopacz, Jeong Seo (2), Jordan Fredrick, Josiah McClelland, Julia Nerby (2), Kamren DeSmith, Karyssa Lieffring, Kaylie Krueger, Leslie Peralta, Ludwig Canonge (3), Macie Rasmussen, McKenzie Krueger, Megan Speiser (2), Michaela Voeltz (2), Moriah Kuehndorf, Quentin Rogers, Sam Melendrez, Taylor Brittain, Taylor McDaniel, Taylor Mortel, Todd Peterson, and Tyler Woodruff.

The Glenwood City Art Department received a grant from the Topper Partnership Foundation that provided large display panels to hang student artwork on.
